I didn't set out to be a copywriter.
I set out to be a teacher.

Turns out those two things have a lot more in common than you'd think.

I'm Stacy — former second-grade teacher, current copywriter, and the person who helps solo and small businesses find the words that actually reflect the quality of their work.

From Second Grade Teaching to Small Business Copy

After two master’s degrees, six years in the classroom, and a resume full of initiatives… I quit my teaching job and jumped into something completely new.

It started with an ad: “Copywriting is a great career for teachers.”

I thought… Hmm. I like writing. I need a career. 🤔 So I gave it a shot.

What I didn't expect was how much my teaching background would shape everything I do as a copywriter. Because teaching isn't just knowing your subject. It's making it clear. Finding the sticky places where people get stuck. Getting a room full of distracted second graders to lean in and actually listen.

That’s exactly what good copy does.

Brands? I’ve been building them since 2010, when I convinced a room full of second graders that the quiet game is THEIR idea.

Storytelling? I spent years keeping 25 kids quietly sitting on a rug, anticipating what's next – now I do the same for your ideal clients.

Foundations? I've always needed to understand the why before I could teach the what. That's still how I work — message first, copy second.

It’s the same skill set — just a different audience.

Most copywriters write.
I start with the foundation.

Before a word of copy gets written, we figure out your message — who you're for, what makes you different, and how to say it in a way that actually connects. That clarity is what makes everything else work.

Every project is built on three things:

Message before copy: Every client starts with brand messaging. It's the foundation that makes your website, your launch emails, your content — all of it — feel cohesive and intentional.

Ethical marketing: No pressure tactics. No fake urgency. Just clear, honest copy that attracts the right people and lets them make an informed decision.

Foundations that stick: You won't just walk away with copy. You'll understand your own message in a way you didn't before — because I can't write what I don't understand, and I make sure you don't leave confused either.

I’m a Massachusetts local who thrives on cozy coffee shop work sessions.

I believe marketing should feel like an invitation, not a performance.

I nerd out over messaging frameworks (and yes, I built my own).

I host the Cozypreneur Podcast, where I talk about sustainable marketing and building a business that works for your life.

When I'm not working, you'll find me reading, hanging out with my cats, or watching the latest cult documentary.
